• In March of 2006, Doug Hobbs, attorney in our Wichita office presented testimony before the House on Workers Compensation reform legislation on behalf of the Kansas Self-Insurers Association.  This bill is intended to provide relief to employers saddled with the financial burden of paying for their employees' pre-existing impairments.  Read more.

• On July 21, 2005, Gary Schafersman, attorney in our Overland Park office spoke at a Seminar for Civil Engineers in Topeka, Kansas on the topic of Avoiding Professional Liability.

• On May 23, 2005, Doug Hobbs, attorney in our Wichita office spoke on recent workers compensation drug defense legislation by the Kansas Systems Builders Association.

• On April 6, 2005, Dwight Fischer and Doug Hobbs, attorneys in our Wichita office, presented a workers compensation/ employment law seminar for the Council on Education in Management.

• In February of 2005, Doug Hobbs, an attorney in our Wichita office, testified on behalf of the Kansas Self-Insurers Association before the Kansas House Commerce and Labor Committee in support of House Bill 2141, one of two workers compensation bills under consideration.

• Warford Johnson, an attorney in our Springfield office, was asked to serve as a faculty member for the University of Phoenix’s new Springfield, Mo., campus. He is teaching online graduate level business law classes.

• Paul Croker, an attorney in our Overland Park office, was selected to participate in the 2004-2005 Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association’s Leadership Academy. The yearly academy is designed to facilitate the development of emerging leaders in the legal profession in the Kansas City area.
