Facts:  Plaintiff insured Resers Find Foods.  Resers' operations included the baking of flour tortillas.  Lawrence Equipment sold an industrial oven to Resers for use in its Topeka flour tortilla facility.  One evening, a fire occurred in the facility, causing over $2 million in property damages and economic losses.  Federal Insurance claimed the fire was caused because Lawrence Equipment's oven was defectively designed.  Plaintiff maintained that certain safety features were not incorporated into the oven which would have prevented and/or suppressed the fire.

Last Demand: $1.5 million
Result: Defense verdict
